Why Digital?
There are occasions that require the changing of an original
photography.
An old existing photograph can be digitally recreated to look close to
the original. Sometimes either someone could not make it or you
would
like to eliminate someone. Digital processing is also a great way
to clean up complexion problems or light glare on glasses.
Some Digital Details
The vastness and variety that is available with digital photographic
services is changing quickly. Advances in capture, printing, and
storage longevity have now made the use of digital photography a viable
reality. Not that film will go away any time soon, but digital
adds
one more tool to the equation.
The Print
Regardless of the digital capture, there are three prominent output
options. The first is using high quality archival inks and
papers.
Denny Scott Photography uses Epson (tm) printers, inks and
papers.
Proper display, storage and care will yield years of high quality
enjoyment.
These prints are printed up to 8 x 10 at the Denny Scott Digital Lab.
The second is the use of Kodak (tm) Dye-Sub printing or the Fuji
Pictorial process. These are two methods that also yield years of
enjoyment with the proper display, storage and care. Third party
vendors are used by Denny Scott Photography to create prints using this
method.
The third method, is the creation of a negative from digital
file.
This method allows the printing using traditional dark room
methods.
The process does cost more, but is very handy when generating prints
larger
than 8 x 10, there is a desire for traditional papers, to there is a
large
quantity needed for the same print.
Capture
At this time, Denny Scott Photography uses two image capture
methods.
The first is the scanning of prints. When doing digital work on
traditional
film photography, or when recreating an 8 x 10 smaller print either the
original print or a specially sized scan print will be scanned.
Digital
work then proceeds.
The other capture method is through the use of a high quality
digital
camera. The camera used was chosen for its high quality and its
interaction
with high quality digital printing systems. In fact, portrait
sessions
using all digital photography using the complete Denny Scott Digital
Lab
are being offered without a session fee.
